The Romanian Economic Journal (REJ) publishes original research articles on various financial, business and economic aspects of emerging and developing economies. In particular, the journal publishes and disseminates both empirical and theoretical analysis related to various aspects of the transition process, economic reform, institutional change and other economic processes experienced by post-transition countries in the Central and Eastern European and CIS regions and other emerging economies around the globe, including China, India, and other Asian, Middle Eastern, African or Latin American countries. REJ aims to provide an opportunity for discussions and exchanges of scholarly opinions in relation to problems and experiences of these business and economic environments. Additionally, REJ intends to promote and motivate young researchers and academics and for this purpose a separate section of every issue is dedicated to their research papers.

In addition to applied research on the above mentioned interest areas, the editorial board invites authors to submit interdisciplinary/panel data research or theoretical and empirical work with global relevance.
